Five Things To Do To Heal A Break Up

Oh no, did get dumped recently? My aim is to give you some guidance to do with healing painful break ups. There are five key elements you must take into account when attempting to recover fast from being dumped.

Acknowledging the relationship is finished.

You are now single once more and you have to come to terms with that. You may well be reunited with your ex or meet someone altogether better. For now who knows what will happen, but in the meantime you need to accept that the relationship is finished. You really should avoid being too clingy and begging your ex with desperation to get back with you.

You have a lot going for you so use it to your advantage.

I’m sure you get the feeling that you have lost everything and your life has been turned on it’s head. This is not really true after all in fact. What you really need to do in these difficult times is to look at things you love to do. You probably had a lot happening in your life, but you never came to realize that until you had the time.

Get out and about and don’t sit indoors.

When you’ve broken up try not to shut yourself away from the world. You may have neglected friends over the years and now is a good time to see them again and meet some new acquaintances. Friends can ensure that you feel better and heal after a bad break up. You’ll find things a lot easier if you have a ton of friends. Read the rest of this entry »

Picking The Right Choice From Wigs For Cancer Patients

When a person is diagnosed with cancer it can be heartbreaking. Often even the idea of choosing wigs for cancer patients does not even come to mind. Certainly friends and family don’t rush out to find out about wigs for cancer patients. This may be a mistake. One of the first things that is often mentioned when reading about chemotherapy is that the patient, be it male or female, is afraid they will lose all of their hair. This is not only the hair on the head but potentially all of their body hair. To some people that is a very real and scary by product of having chemotherapy.

Ideally, the patient or family member or even a friend, should take into consideration what can or may happen during the chemotherapy process. There are a lot of side effects and not all of them kind to the body. One of the side effects that they should talk about is hair loss and how the patient will feel about the process. In a way this is a preparation for the entire process. The Mayo Clinic site suggests that the person use energy staying healthy rather than worrying about how they are going to look. Ok, this is fine to say but probably not very realistic. The patient is going to care how they will look.

Now you can sit down with the patient and discuss their options. One of the choices that many cancer patients make is to get a wig. Apparently it may be covered under some insurance polices as a prosthesis device and will be paid for by insurance. This is a good place to start. Read the rest of this entry »

Stop Drugging Our Kids

A New Solution for the ADD to Autism Problem

There’s a new affordable alternative to dangerous drugs for the ADD-Autism continuum!
Unlike drugs, there are NO harmful side effects.  Unlike Neurofeedback (AKA EEG
Biofeedback, long proved the best therapy), it’s affordable for even low income families.

For about 40 years, EEG Biofeedback (now called Neurofeedback or NeuroTherapy) has proved to be the most effective for “training” kids out of the ADD/ADHD/Autism symptoms.  It takes between 50-60 half hour sessions to get an ADD/ADHD child that sits still in class, concentrating and learning (and who doesn’t freak out the class with his hyperactivity).  It can take up to 200 or more sessions to improve an autistic child close to this same ideal.

The major drawback to Neurofeedback Training is that a half hour session in a Neurofeedback clinic costs between $75 and $250.  The computer and the EEG BF unit are expensive, and “doctor time” is always expensive.  (One psychiatrist is reputed to actually charge $350 per half hour – and without a gun!).

How many families can really afford $5000 or more in a year?  How many families that can afford this high amount want to spend this much?  How many families are persuaded by convincing drug ads and the schools (with subsidies from the drug makers) that drugs are the way to go?  (After all, drugs are covered under most health insurance and are “free” in effect – money, a strong motive).  Read the rest of this entry »
